OREANDA-NEWS. October 11, 2011. The implementation of the of accelerated traffic of passenger trains is demanding from the State Administration of Railway Transport of Ukraine "Ukrzaliznytsya"  to improve traffic safety, especially at the intersections of tracks with motorways (railway crossings). On the sections of implementation of accelerated motion Lviv - Kyiv - Donetsk, currently, is exploited 245 grade crossings which should be equipped according to operating standard documents.

In 2011, on sections of accelerated movement of Ukrzaliznytsya, 3 grade crossings from 5 scheduled have been closed, 8 have thoroughly renovated. On two crossings can be installed restrictive barrier installation. Also, in 2011, it is provided for transfer to the next level with 48 crossings and to equip them with the appropriate arrangement.

Funding to bring crossings with the requirements of existing regulations is carried out at their own expense railways. According to the financial plan, it will be provided for execution of works of repair crossings by 6.7 million UAH and capital construction by 65.6 million UAH.
