OREANDA-NEWS. October 10, 2011. From September 28 till October 1, 2011 the Siberian Chemical Plant JSC (enters into the Fuel company of Rosatom TVEL, Tomsk region, Seversk City) was visited by the delegation of the largest Swiss energy company AXPO AG under the direction of the General Director of the company Mr. Manfred Tuman. The initiator of visit was the Swiss company, which planned to make sure that the activities of Siberian Chemical Plant in terms of deliveries of uranium products for nuclear power plants in Switzerland corresponds to standards of environmental safety and doesn’t have an unacceptable influence on the environment. The delegation was accompanied by representatives of TENEX JSC headed by the Deputy General Director MR. Sergei Polgorodnik.

Since 1996 Siberian Chemical Plant and TENEX maintain the deliveries for the NPP Leibstadt of AXPO AG. Now the industrial complex also carries out the order of this foreign partner for delivery of the enriched uranium and has positive experience for the further expansion of cooperation.

During the visit representatives of the Swiss delegation met with the management of the plant, visited the production facilities of the Siberian Chemical Plant, took part in a meeting devoted to discussion of a question of influence of plant production on the environment, which was attended by specialists of the federal unitary enterprise Seversk Biophysical Research Centre and specialists of the Clinical Hospital № 81 of Federal Medical-Biological Agency of Russia.

Swiss delegation was provided convincing evidence of favorable environmental conditions around the plant and the presence of advanced technologies to ensure safety. It has been confirmed that the Siberian Chemical Plant operates on the basis of licenses in strict compliance with Russian law. It has been noted that the activities of plant fully meets international standards, confirmed by the international certificates of quality management system ISO 9001 and compliance with environmental management system ISO 14001 received by Siberian Chemical Plant in 2004 and 2010. In 2010 the plant has successfully passed the recertification of the quality management system and audit of French companies AREVA NP and EDF for compliance with ISO 9001:2008. The facts confirming steadfast attention, given by Siberian Chemical Plant to questions of preservation of the environment have been mentioned. For example, only in 2010 expenses of Siberian Chemical Plant on financing of nature protection actions have made an order of half a billion rubles. A similar level of funding is planned in 2011. In addition, the high efficiency of the existing system of health protection of the personnel of Siberian Chemical Plant and of Seversk population living in the area affected by the plant, was demonstrated to the specialists of Seversk Biophysical Research Centre and specialists of the Clinical Hospital № 81 of Federal Medical-Biological Agency of Russia, given the facts, confirming the absence of abnormal deviations on disease from similar indicators in Tomsk, Tomsk region and Russia.

Profits earned by the company, including incomes from the implementation of overseas contracts go to development, as well as to improvement of environmental safety.
