Azerbaijan Power Generation Exceeds 78.8% of 2010 Production
OREANDA-NEWS. October 10, 2011. Azerbaijani national energy producer Azerenerji OJSC reduced generating power in September 2011 by 13.4% compared to August’s index.
In 2011 the Azerenerji system has already generated 78.8% of overall power generation in 2010, when it made up 98.9% of the 2009 figure.
The Azerenerji’s press service, citing the Central Dispatcher Control Office, reported that it was generated 1.5 bn kWh of electricity in September versus
1.5 bn kWh in August, 1.6 bn kWh in July, 1.3 bn in June, 1.4 bn kWh in May, 1.7 bn kWh in April, 1 bn kWh in March, 1.8 bn kWh in February, and 1.9 bn kWh in January of 2011.
Last year’s highest generation was registered in January (1.9 bn kWh).
“This September it was generated 1.1 bn of kWh of power at thermal electric power stations and 200 million at hydroelectric power stations," Azerenerji informed.
In August it reached 1.3 bn and 200 million kWh, in July 1.4 bn kWh and 200 million kWh, in August 1 bn kWh and 300 million kWh, in May 900 million kWh and 500 million kWh, in April 1.3 bn kWh and 400 million kWh, in March 1.8 bn kWh and 200 million kWh, in February 1.6 bn and 200 million kWh, and in January 1.7 bn and 200 million kWh respectively.
“Over Jan-Sept 2011 generation was 14.5 bn kWh, including 12.3 bn kWh at TEPS and 2.2 bn at HEPS,” it was reported.
In 2010 it was generated 18.4 bn of kWh of power. Data on thermal and hydroelectric power stations was not published.
In 2009 power generation made up 18.6 bn kWh (including 16.3 bn kWh at thermal power stations and 2.3 bn kWh at hydroelectric power stations) and in 2008 - 21.2 bn kWh (including 19 bn kWh and 2.2 bn kWh respectively).
