OREANDA-NEWS. October 7, 2011. The main target of the project which was launched a year ago was to perfect technological processes of the automobile plant. It was implemented with the help of up-to-date standards of the operating system of KAMAZ’s German partner Daimler. As a result, labour productivity was increased by 49%. Already within the period of its realization, an economic effect from this project made 629 million roubles and manifold exceeded expenses incurred.

The top managers of Daimler and KAMAZ participated in the closing ceremony. The event also attracted the officials from the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Ministry of Industry and Energy of Udmurtia, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, managers of the largest enterprises of Tatarstan and Commercial and Industrial Chambers of the Russian Federation.

According to Sergey Kogogin, Director General of OJSC KAMAZ, the TOS Lighthouse Project brought positive changes to KAMAZ. “I’d like to thank our partners and colleagues, Mr. Renschler, for the support we got from Daimler implementing this system,” said Sergey Kogogin. “I hope we didn’t disappoint you. I also thank our partner – Lean Couching, because their ardour helps us a lot. And I appeal to all participants of the project to actively continue this work in order to develop it at all plants of KAMAZ.”

In his turn, Head of Daimler Trucks Division Andreas Renschler made a special mention of the positive tendencies at KAMAZ and said that KAMAZ had greatly changed. “You have made many achievements,” said the representative of KAMAZ’s strategic partner. “I’m absolutely sure that we all will achieve greater results if you continue working in the same way.”
