OREANDA-NEWS. October 07, 2011. Commissioned by the State Administration of Railway Transport of Ukraine "Ukrzaliznytsya", it is signed the agreement between the State Enterprise "Ukrzaliznychpostach" and joint-stock company "Elmavalmshenebeli" (Georgia) on supply of 110 mainline freight DC electric locomotives. This was reported by the First Deputy of General Director "Ukrzaliznytsia" Mykola Sergienko.

As he said, it is provided to construct and deliver to the Ukrainian Railways 110 new mainline freight DC locomotives VL11M/6 in the period 2012-2016. The Georgian supplier has offered the best price and terms of delivery and the option of manning by Ukrainian products.

"The deal is 438 million 130 thousand USD. Moreover, while concluding the agreement, it has been calculated the special formula of the price of unit of machinery where the price would depend not on the course, but on the cost of accessories and an indexing in Ukraine," Mykola Sergienko has noted.

Overall, the project will be implemented for their own and borrowed funds of Ukrzaliznytsia. In the near future, Ukrzaliznytsia will announce the tender for the involvement of credit for financial support of the agreement with the Tbilisi plant. The production of electric locomotives in Georgia is financed by the expenses of the Georgian banks.

The first 24 electric locomotives to the Ukrainian railroad communications will be already delivered in the following (2012) year. In 2013 and 2014, it will be delivered in 30 units of technique for every year, in 2014 - 16 and in 2016 - 10 electric locomotives.
