OREANDA-NEWS. October 07, 2011. The country’s national debt and the debt guaranteed by the state increased in the reporting period by USD 122.52 mln (9.1%) – from USD 1,348.67 mln (as of the beginning of 2011) to USD 1,471.19 mln (by the end of the first half of 2011) and the foreign private unsecured foreign debt grew USD 147.26 mln (4.3%) – from USD 3,437.56 mln to USD 3,584.82 mln, according to the NBM.

Moldova’s private unsecured foreign debt made up 71% of the total amount of the foreign debt. Moldova’s foreign long-term obligations by the end of the first half of 2011 totaled USD 3,339.33 mln (66% of the total amount of the debt), and short-term obligations - USD 1,716.68 mln (34%).

As of the beginning of 2011, Moldova’s total foreign debt totaled USD 4,786.23 mln, by the end of the first half of 2010 - USD 4,406.44 mln.
