Azeri Oil Transportation via BTC Fell by 13% in September 2011
OREANDA-NEWS. October 6, 2011. The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) has renewed statistical data on Azerbaijani oil export via the major pipeline Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) named after Heydar Aliyev. Oil transportation via BTC this September fell by 13% against August 2011.
The SOCAR informs that it was carried 2.52 million tons of Azeri oil via BTC to Turkey’s Ceyhan port in September against 2.894 million tons in August, 2.856 million tons in July, 2.797 million tons in June, 2.826 million tons in May, 2.8 million tons in April, 2.9 million tons in March, 2.8 million tons in February, 2.9 million tons in January and 3.5 million tons in May (best index of 2010).
“In 2011 oil pumping via BTC still totals 25.281 million tons,” it was informed.
In 2010 oil pumping via BTC totaled 37 million tons against 36.2 million tons in 2009.
The highest figures of pumping in 2009 were registered in May and June (by 3.3 million tons). In May 2010, this index was broken. From the very start of the BTC operation in mid-2006 to 1st October 2011 the pipeline delivered 168.83 million tons to Ceyhan.
Shipping from Ceyhan port made up 2.644 million tons in September 2011 and 24.756 million tons in 2011. From the very start of BTC operation to 1st October 2011 export from Ceyhan totaled 166.69 million tons.
