OREANDA-NEWS. October 5, 2011. Head of the National Bank of Belarus Nadezhda Yermakova, who was recently appointed Belarus’ governor in the International Monetary Fund (IMF), has failed to turn up at the annual gathering of the IMF and the World Bank, due in Washington September 22-25.

Yermakova would not arrive in Washington on Wednesday along with the official Belarusian delegation, an IMF official told reporters.

Yermakova cancelled her trip to Washington referring to a tight working schedule as one of the likely reasons behind that move, the IMF official informed.

Belarus’ delegation to Washington includes Finance Minister Andrei Kharkovets, who spearheads the delegation, and Economy Minister Nikolai Snopkov.

Nadezhda Yermakova, Chairperson of the Board of the National Bank of Belarus (NBB), has been recently appointed governor to represent Belarus in the International Monetary Fund.

Yermakova has been in control of the NBB since July 27, 2011.

The previous governor to represent Belarus in the IMF was former NBB chief Petr Prokopovich.
