China Oilfield Services Limited (“COSL”) announced that COSLInnovator, the second semi-submersible drilling platform that its wholly-owned subsidiary COSL Drilling Europe AS (CDE) commissioned to construct, has completed its trial voyage within a period of 11 days only, which is 5 days fewer than the record made by  COSLPioneer, a drilling platform with similar specifications, reported the press-centre of COSL.

During the trial voyage, the platform constructor and the engineering supervisor worked together to streamline the work to prepare the platform to go through and complete 31 tests and inspections, including those on propulsion, endurance, unmanned cabin, PMS, dynamic positioning system, communications system and FMEA, etc.

The completion of this trial voyage marked a milestone development for the construction of COSLInnovator, which is scheduled to be delivered in the fourth quarter of 2011.
