British Businessmen Visit Turkmenistan
OREANDA-NEWS. October 5, 2011. The meetings with Ronald Nash, Co-Chair of the Turkmenistan-UK Trade and Industry Council, who had arrived in the Turkmen capital leading a business delegation, were held at the Government of Turkmenistan.
The key issues put on the meeting agenda included various aspects of the implementation of bilateral agreements and the current state and prospects for fostering Turkmen-British partnership. Expressing satisfaction with the dynamics of cooperation, the meeting participants focused on the existing tremendous potential for diversifying mutually beneficial contacts.
The fuel and energy sector, trade and economic, banking and construction sectors, transport and communications infrastructure development, adoption of advanced technologies, tourism and other industries were mentioned as priority areas for cooperation.
It was underlined that the economic reforms launched throughout the country on the initiative of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov had facilitated creating the favourable investment climate and conditions to the activity of foreign companies in the country. In this regard, Mr. Ronald Nash reaffirmed that the British business circles sought to expand in the promising dynamically developing Turkmen market and collaborate in implementing investment and other joint projects on national and transnational scale.
The members of the British delegation will continue the talks at the Government of Turkmenistan where further steps to intensify mutually beneficial cooperation and foster business contacts between state structures and businesses of the two countries will be discussed.
