OREANDA-NEWS. October 5, 2011. General Director of OJSC KAMAZ Sergey Kogogin participated in the fifth Far East International Economic Forum which was held in Khabarovsk.

The forum was organized by the State Duma of Russia with the support of the Government of Russia and the Russian Academy of Sciences. This year it was dedicated to the issues of socio-economic development of the Far East and improvement of the quality of life in the Far East. Power officials and large Russian businessmen participated in it.

It should be noted that KAMAZ contributes to the development of this region. A year ago, a vehicle and special equipment assembly enterprise – KAMAZ-Vostok – was opened in Khabarovsk. This is the first assembly enterprise of KAMAZ in Russia. This enabled to greatly cheapen manufactured products. Previously, transportation of outsized vehicles by rail across the whole country significantly reduced the price competitiveness of KAMAZ vehicles. In addition, as soon as the JV had been set up, KAMAZ began executing the Far Eastern customers’ orders much more quickly. Thus, KAMAZ vehicles became more affordable for the Far Eastern buyers. Thanks to this new venture, the company could offer the Far Eastern residents new jobs. Considering that the business project of the enterprise provides for expansion of production areas to 1,500 square meters, the number of employees will also increase three-fold. The Far Eastern Regional Training Centre was opened on the basis of Autocentre KAMAZ in Khabarovsk today to train specialists operating and maintaining KAMAZ vehicles. It means that the quality of service will be improved too.

The range of services of KAMAZ for the residents of the Far East Federal District includes a financial service. With its own best Russian leasing company, KAMAZ offers its Far Eastern customers a wide range of leasing products, and many of them have already proved their effectiveness.

Sergey Kogogin said at the forum that consistent implementation of a comprehensive approach to customer service in the Far East had resulted in the widespread use of KAMAZ vehicles in investment projects at federal and regional levels, which were being implemented in the Far East. "The development of regional programs in the Far East Federal District means not only the development of the region`s economy, but also a solution to social problems: such as more jobs, improvement of the quality of life. We strive to make the maximum contribution to solve this noble task," said General Director of OJSC KAMAZ.
