OREANDA-NEWS. October 4, 2011. Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov has received the delegation headed by Geert Muyllen, Director General for Bilateral Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belgium.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Azerbaijan informs that the sides discussed the present state of bipartite relationships. The guests were provided detailed information about the energy strategy of Azerbaijan and the importance of ongoing regional economic projects. During the meeting it was underlined Azerbaijan’s important strategic role in energy security of Europe and exchanged views on prospects of economic cooperation and energy and a number of areas of mutual interest of the parties, as well as ties between the EU and Azerbaijan.

The official representative of Belgium was presented information on Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno Garabagh conflict and the measures taken towards peaceful settlement of the issue. It was stressed significance of this conflict settlement within the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.
