Mostotrest Launches Construction Work of М11 Highway Head Segment
OREANDA-NEWS. October 4, 2011. Mostotrest announces the launch of core construction work under the general contract to build the head segment of the Moscow - Saint Petersburg Highway (15-58 km). According to the contract between Mostotrest and its customer, the North-Western Concession Company (NWCC), the construction period will take no more than three years. The contract value is RUB48.38 billion.
Construction will be carried out under the Concession Agreement for Financing, Construction and Toll-based Operation of the 15-58 km Segment of the Moscow - St. Petersburg Highway.
The total length of the segment is approximately 43 km. In accordance with the contract, Mostotrest will build a modern highway with up to 10 traffic lanes, 5 traffic interchanges, 39 bridges and overpasses and other amenities. Among others, the company will erect traffic interchanges at the intersection with Mezhdunarodnoe Avenue and approach to the Sheremetyevo Airport, providing a direct access from the highway to the terminals of Sheremetyevo International Airport and Sheremetyevo-1 Airport, as well as a 334 m 10-lane three-span bridge over the Channel of Moscow.
The highway design is based on the latest technology and traffic safety requirements. The 1A category highway will be equipped with emergency stop lanes, traffic islands, and rest areas. As part of the project, Mostotrest will also build 3 underground pedestrian crossings and upgrade a railway crossing.
Mostotrest (including LLC Corporation Engtransstroy and LLC Transstroymekhanisatsiya) is the largest diversified infrastructure and bridge-building company in Russia. According to PMR, the independent industry consultancy, Mostotrest had an 8.4% share of the total Russian infrastructure construction market in 2010 (excluding road maintenance and rehabilitation). Mostotrest’s core competences include construction and rehabilitation of automobile, railway and urban bridges, automobile roads and other transport infrastructure.
The company was established in 1930 as a developer of complex and oversized bridges, and has built and rehabilitated more than 7,500 infrastructure projects (bridges, flyovers, tunnels and interchanges) to date.
