RTS Released Stock Market Weekly Trading Results: September 26-30
OREANDA-NEWS. October 4, 2011. Over the week of September 26-30, 2011, the RTS Index went up by 1.91% to reach 1,341.09 points (1,315.95 points as of September 23, 2011). Most of the positive impact on the RTS Index dynamics was related to the growing prices for ordinary shares of OJSC "MMC "NORILSK NICKEL" (GMKNS) (plus 11.35 points), OAO "LUKOIL" (LKOHS) (plus 9.95 points) followed by Gazprom (GAZPS) (plus 5.16 points).
The RTS Standard Index, the blue chips index, gained 3.19% to reach 9,303.84 points (9,015.98 points as of September 23, 2011). The "second-tier" stock index - RTS-2 experienced a decrease of 3.15% closing at 1,562.11 points (1,612.93 points as of September 23, 2011).
Last week's growth on the stock market was accompanied by a decrease of volatility levels when the Russian Volatility Index RTSVX went down by 10.04% to reach 57.27 points (63.66 points as of September 23, 2011).
Last week all the key economy sectors represented on the Russian stock market demonstrated a negative trend. The largest decrease was reported by the metallurgy sector, with the RTS Metals & Mining Index lost 2.38%. In addition, a significant fall was showed by the consumer and power sectors, with the RTS Consumer & Retail Index and RTS Electric Utilities Index going down by 2.07% and 1.93% respectively. A largest growth was reported by the oil & gas sector, with the RTS Oil & Gas Index adding 3.69%.
The regional index, RTS Siberia Index, lost 2.15%.
Last week the US dollar depreciated by 0.11% against the ruble to reach 31.88 rubles per US dollar (31.91 rubles as of September 23, 2011).

The total securities trading volume on RTS for the week of September 26-30, 2011 equaled USD10.23 billion (328.59 billion rubles*), including all types of trades. The trading volume on RTS Standard totaled USD2,037.16 million.
The week's top sellers were Sberbank ordinary shares (SBER) with a turnover of USD1,087.40 million (RUB34,897.33 million) followed by Gazprom ordinary shares (GAZP) with a turnover of USD517.51 million (RUB16,608.31 million) and ordinary shares of OAO "LUKOIL" (LKOH) with a turnover of USD172.35 million (RUB5,531.57 million). The share of each security in the total trading volume made up 52.79%, 25.13% and 8.37% respectively.
The week's top gainers were ordinary shares of MTS OJSC (MTSS) that went up by 10.88% to RUB188.50, followed by OJSC "MMC "NORILSK NICKEL" (GMKNS) that increased by 10.71% to reach RUB6,991.40 and "Surgutneftegas" OJSC (SNGSS) that added 7.71% to reach RUB26.026. The week's top losers were ordinary shares of OJSC "MMK" (MAGNS) that fell 12.00% to reach RUB13.20 followed by OJSC Uralkali (URKAS) that lost 5.91% to reach RUB221.77 and JSC "TGC-1" that shed 4.35% to reach RUB0.01.
