SOCAR Management Attends Pipeline Opening in Georgia
OREANDA-NEWS. October 3, 2011. SOCAR delegation headed by Company President Mr. Rovnag Abdullayev visited Georgia. During the visit, the delegation attended the opening of the pipeline built by SOCAR Georgia Gas in Kvemo Sarali village of Marneuli region of Georgia. It was reported that the new pipeline extending to 11.7 km creates an opportunity for connection of 380 potential subscribers to the gas system and noted that pipelines extending to 185 km in Marneuli connected 5367 subscribers to the system. At present, works are continued on gasification of Gachagan, Sabirkand, Didi Muganlo, and Lezhbadin villages.
The pipelines overall will extend to 105 km, and as a result, 2465 subscribers will be connected to the network. It was reported that in 2009-2011, SOCAR Georgia Gas Ltd Company constructed 1281 kilometers of gas pipelines and provided 74398 subscribers with gas. According to the intended 3-year investment program, for 2009-2011, the length of pipelines to be built will amount to 2792 kilometers and the number of subscribers will reach 151420.
The opening ceremony, was attended by SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev, Georgian Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alexander Khetaguri, Azerbaijan’s ambassador to Georgia Azer Huseyn, SOCAR vice presidents Suleyman Gasimov, Davud Mammadov, chief of the Investments Department Vagif Aliyev, head of the Georgian office of SOCAR and general director of SOCAR Energy Georgia Mahir Mammadov, as well as Kvemo-Kartli governor David Kirkitadze and mass media representatives.
