OREANDA-NEWS. October 3, 2011. Mr. Khalik Mammadov, SOCAR Vice-president on Human Resources, Regime and Information Technologies and Mr. Kamil Valiyev, head of the Division for Legal Support of International Projects of the Legal Department paid a business visit to Houston city of the U.S.A. During the visit, SOCAR representatives met with Azerbaijani scholars and asked about their education and living conditions.

Besides, they met with the representatives of Azerbaijani community living in Houston. Afterwards, SOCAR representatives were received by Ms. Annise D. Parker, mayor of Houston. The meeting was also attended by President of Houston-Baku Sister City Association Irada Akhundova, Vice-president Dr. Satish Kalra, Houston City Councilman Jarvis Johnson, Chief Development Officer for Houston City Andy Icken, and mayor’s advisor for cultural issues.

The representatives spoke about the important role of relations between Houston and Baku in the development of Azerbaijani-US brotherhood and 35-year cooperation between the two cities. They also pointed out the significance of the friendly relations for SOCAR.
