OREANDA-NEWS. October 03, 2011. Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov considers promising development of trade and economic relations with Korea. He said this during a meeting with Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea Kim Hwan-Sik.

"Undoubtedly, a priority direction of our mutual relations is progress of economic cooperation, deepening of trading and investment cooperation. Despite of growth of commodity circulation, nevertheless figures of commodity circulation mismatch potential of our countries. We should make everything to intensify our trade and economic relations" - Mykola Azarov emphasized.

According to him, Ukraine is interested in attraction of hi-tech Korean investments, in particular, in branch of an agriculture, energy, metallurgy, etc.

The PM emphasized that carrying out an investment forum in Seoul in December, 2011 and the first session of the Ukrainian-Korean intergovernmental commission concerning trade and economic relations will assist to progress cooperation between the states. "Carrying out of such two important actions will give a serious impulse to progress of our attitudes", - Mykola Azarov noted.

Besides, the Prime Minister has emphasized, that Ukraine is ready to deliver a wide range of chemical production to Korea.

Ukraine also welcomes the initiative of Korean Hyundai Motor Company on construction of joint venture on manufacture of cars.

According to Mykola Azarov, also creation in Ukraine of joint venture on manufacture of light-emitting diodes and energy-saving lighting devices is perspective. Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov said that Ukraine was ready to give to this direction tax preferences.

The Prime Minister also reminded, that within the limits of preparation for Euro-2012 Korea will put six high-speed trains to Ukraine. He added that our state is going to get some more such trains. "I wish to tell to you frankly, that we are more interested in creation of joint venture in the territory of Ukraine as we have appropriating enterprises which can make hi-tech trains", - has emphasized Nikolay Azarov.

Besides, Ukraine welcomes the initiative of the Korean companies on construction in Odesa port a complex for export grain to the countries of Asia. Ukraine was interested in cooperation with Korea in aircraft construction and space branch, - Mykola Azarov noted. He added that Ukraine and Korea had experience of cooperation in space branch, but there are good prospects for activation of such cooperation. Ukraine is ready to provide the rocket launcher for space shot of the Korean satellite.

Ukraine and Korea are going to make active cooperation in the field of culture. In particular, Mykola Azarov has initiated to lead Days of culture of Korea in Ukraine and on the contrary.

The PM added that our state will support also realization of joint projects in the field of education. Also the Prime minister suggested to open the direct flight between Kyiv and Seoul: "That there are possibilities for active cooperation as it seems to me, it is time to agree about introduction of a direct flight Seoul-Kyiv. Also we could simplify at the most a visa mode between our countries".

In turn the Prime Minister of Korea has agreed with the Prime Minister of Ukraine to deepening of the Ukrainian-Korean attitudes will assist the first session of the intergovernmental meeting concerning trade and economic relations in Seoul.
