OREANDA-NEWS. September 29, 2011. New models of the Kama series N solid steel cord tires have been mastered at the Nizhnekamsk SSC Tire Factory, which is part of TATNEFT's tire complex. The Company has put into production tires of model 12,00 R20 NR 701 and 2 models NF 202 and NR 202 in the size 315/70R 22.5, reported the press-centre of TATNEFT.

There are plans to master and put into production 11 tire models of 8 sizes in 2011. To date, seven models have been mastered and production of 4 new models is scheduled to start by the end of the year. Toward the end of the year the production is scheduled to be at full capacity of 1.2 million pieces of tires per year.

The main claimed characteristics of the new tire models include increased load capacity by up to 8 percent and decreased fuel consumption of motor vehicles by down to 10 percent.

According to the tests carried out by specialists of the magazine "Reis" (No. 9 / 2011) the Kama tires "are energy efficient thanks to low rolling resistance". In the course of testing the devices have registered a record low fuel consumption level: it has dropped down to almost 30 l/100 km.
The new tire models also feature the presence of tire wear indicator, which makes it possible to keep track of the remaining tire tread without application of special measuring devices.

The KAMA Series N Tires of 202 classification are designed for movement on asphalt coat, rough terrain and dirt roads. The NF abbreviation stands for the use of tires to be installed on the front axle, while NR means installation on the rear axle.

In addition to the KAMA solid steel cord tires the facilities of the Nizhnekamsk SSC Tire Factory manufacture tires of the world's leading tire manufacturer Continental. A contract to manufacture tires on off-take basis (production of tires under the order for other brands) was signed in September last year with the German firm Continental. The first Continental brand tire manufactured at Nizhnekamsk factory rolled off the production line late in January 2011.
