OREANDA-NEWS. September 28, 2011. It is read in the materials presented by the Chamber of Accounts, following the audit of incomes administered by the State Tax Service in 2010. It was noted that 63 phantom firms had been registered in Moldova, with 48 of them registered as VAT payers.

Most phantom firms (73.4%) were registered at the State Tax Inspection of the Chisinau municipality, the rest 26.6% - in the regional State Tax Inspections. The Chamber of Accounts noted cases when tax invoices were provided to some economic agents post factum, before their registration in a tax authority; the amount of VAT included into these invoices totaling 938.8 thousand leis.

At the moment of the audit, 19 economic agents that were recognized phantoms, had 343 unused tax invoices, the fact that represents a tax violations risk from their side. The audit of the order of monitoring of the import trade deals and of the cost chain in the domestic retail network by the State Tax Inspection has shown that this procedure wasn’t carried out on a high level and the amount of tax evasion risk only in cases mentioned in the report totaled 1,067 mln leis.
