OREANDA-NEWS. September 28, 2011. FAS organised a meeting of the Working Group on increasing transparency of pricing for metal products and on long-term contract practice, at FAS Expert Council for developing competition in the metallurgy industry, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

The Working Group meeting was attended by representatives of FAS, “EvrazHloding” Ltd., “Severstal” OCJS, “MMK” OJSC, “Metalloinvest” Mining and Metal Holding” Ltd., “NLMK” OJSC, “Mechel” OJSC, “TMK” OJSC, “OMK” CJSC, “Chelpipe” OJSC, the “Foundation for Developing Pipe Industry” Non-commercial Organisation, “Raspadskaya” Coal Company” CJSC, “Energoprom Management” CJSC, and “Russian Steel” Non-Profit Partnership.

The WG discussed current work of pipe companies regarding formal pricing and the work of metallurgical companies on developing trade and merchandising policies to sell goods on the markets with limited competitive environment.

The WG also discussed experience of formulae pricing and factors restricting transition to price formulae for certain markets in the metallurgy sector. The WG made a decision to continue developing trade and merchandising policies, and hold the next meeting of the Expert Council at the beginning of November 2011.
