Russian Railways to Take Part in Infotrans-2011
OREANDA-NEWS. The XVI International Conference on Information Technologies in Rail Transport and the Infotrans-2011 Exhibition of Industry Achievements will be held between 10 and 13 October 2011, reported the press-centre of Russian Railways.
The two events will be held at the Park Inn Pribaltiyskaya hotel in St. Petersburg and are being organised by the company Business Dialogue. Russian Railways is the general partner.
At the Infotrans-2011 Exhibition, managers and specialists in the rail sector and the IT-industry will be able to see the latest domestic and global developments aimed at ensuring smooth and efficient railway operation.
Also under discussion at the conference will be key aspects of implementing information technology with regard to transport infrastructure. In addition, the event will address, in numerous formats, standard business-critical issues of constructing IT architecture and managing IT resources efficiently.
The conference will also consider the prospects for implementing universal electronic cards and a unified transportation application and introducing technology for the remote release of goods when moving freight across borders, as well as improving service quality to users of transport networks at the junction between railways and sea ports.
For the first time during the conference a dialogue will take place on developing multimodal shipments in the light of improving the management of transport infrastructure. Taking part in the dialogue will be leading IT experts from major Russian infrastructure companies. Considerable attention will be paid to questions of virtualisation and cloud computing for the needs of the transportation industry.
