Vice President of Microsoft Visited TUT
OREANDA-NEWS. September 28, 2011. Microsoft’s Corporate Vice President Alain Crozier visited TUT. Alain Crozier met with the TUT management in order to discuss new development trends in cooperation. TUT students will, for example, have an opportunity to have their practical training at the Microsoft headquarters in Redmond, USA, reported the press-centre of TUT.
During the meeting with the TUT management, future plans for cooperation between the University and one of the leading global IT corporations were discussed. Issues of cooperation in the fields of education and research, joint research activities as well as practical training of researchers at Microsoft were discussed. They day ended with Crosier’s open lecture at TUT on innovation.
Crozier found that TUT is an environment where great achievements are possible. "The University of Technology is an organisation with a vision. I would have liked to study at TUT if I had the chance in my youth,“ Alain Crozier confirmed.
"Microsoft is a global trend-setter and its Corporate Vice President Alain Crozier is the man who creates innovation that we daily consume. For our University, this meeting and our cooperation are crucial landmarks marking our drive for innovation,” said Alar Kolk, TUT Vice Rector on Innovation and Internationalisation. "There is a limited number of visionaries who think, act and lead processes on the global scale. Alain Crozier is one of them,” Vice Rector Kolk added.
In his open lecture "Modern Innovation Strategies & Corporate Performance“ Alain Crozier discussed in detail modern innovation strategies, technologies of future trends and cloud computing, the impact of cloud computing on the performance and management of companies. He also talked about the overall competitive situation and technology, the impact of innovation on ecosystems and its likely trends. Naturally, the changes of the position and role of Microsoft through technology were addressed. The lecture ended with a question and answer session.
