OREANDA-NEWS. September 27, 2011. Sumgait technical park is the largest non-oil project of Azerbaijan.

Deputy Board Chairman for Strategic Issues of construction energy company Azenko Zaur Mammadov has reported that currently 8 plants are operating on the complex territory and two plants were recently put into operation including the plant for production of technical gases (nitrogen, oxygen, argon) with no analogs in the region.

" Also tractors assembly has started in STP for the first time in Azerbaijan. The tractors in accord with international standards have 6х4 configuration and 420 horse power",- Z. Mammadov said.

In his words 14 plants will be operating in the park by 2014. Now cable plant, the plant for plastic pipes production, high-voltage equipment plant, solar collectors plant, machine building plant, hot-dip galvanizing plant, electronic devices (smart-meters) plant , air-channel plant and high-precision mechanics plants are operating in the park.

" Presently the largest close industrial complex in Azerbaijan of 400 m length and 260 m width is under construction in STP – heavy metal plant",- Z. Mammadov said.
