OREANDA-NEWS. September 27, 2011. ISD Corporation has signed a social partnership agreement for 2011-2013, within which it allocates UAH 65 mln for Alchevsk development project and UAH 5 mln for the construction works of a burn centre in Luhansk.   

The agreement has been signed between Luhansk Regional State Administration, Luhansk Regional Council, Alchevsk Municipal Council, ISD Corporation and Alchevsk Metallurgical Plant.

In terms with the agreement the reforms will be carried on in the sector of housing and utilities, public services, trade and transport service. The sides intend to implement large-scale programs in the field of health care, education, culture and sports.

In 2006 Alchevsk became the first town in Ukraine to have signed an Agreement about social and economic partnership between municipal council and Industrial Union of Donbass Corporation. Non-profitable organization Alchevsk Development Fund remained to be the instrument of implementing the initiatives. Within 5 years of its work the programs in 8 main fields have been implemented, including the projects of interactive training of handicapped children, all year round rehabilitation of children in health resorts in Yevpatoria, the reconstruction of an orphanage for children and the establishment of the Centre of social services. The total volume of investments exceeds UAH 50 mln.

"Today’s agreement is of a vital importance for Alchevsk since all the activity in the town is connected with the plant and is dependent on it in all important fields. Regional State administration and Regional Council take the commitments to support the development of business of signatory enterprises on the territory of Luhansk region", — stressed Vladimir Pristiuk, the Head of Luhansk Regional State Administration.     

Commenting on signing the agreement CFO of ISD Corporation Yevgeny Potapov said: "Alchevsk Steel Mill is undoubtedly the best steel plant in Ukraine. The results shown by the plant prove that we have not only the best technological equipment but the best professionals as well. People spend greater part of their time not at work but with their families, in the town and it means that we should take care of their comfort and it involves signing the Agreement".

In the near future as part of the agreement the initiatives in the field of public health services will be implemented (the purchase of 3 Gazel cars with the medical equipment, the renovation of a box bloc of the contagious isolation ward, repairing the roofs and the elevations of the health care buildings; education (the purchase of school manuals for school rooms, equipping infant schools with technological equipment, accounting appliances, repairing the roofs and elevations of educational establishments). In the sector of municipal housing economy it’s planned to conclude the implementation of the project "smart house" as part of the reform of municipal heat supply system envisaging thermo reconstruction of the accommodation unit.
