OREANDA-NEWS. September 27, 2011. TNK-BP announces the successful launch of the program aimed at upgrade of special vehicles used at aircraft refueling complex, Sheremetyevo Airport. TNK-Avia (the division of TNK-BP) intends to completely upgrade current refueling vehicles park (around 50 vehicles) in Sheremetyevo until 2016.

This September, three new TNK-Avia dispenser vehicles started to operate in the airport. These vehicles were made by one of the leading European manufacturers of refueling equipment for aviation industry. The cost of each car is around 300,000 Euros. The dispensers feature special aircraft refueling technology, whereby the car is connected to underground pipeline (hydrant system). At the same time, the dispensers’ state-of-the-art equipment provides for high-speed (up to 1,500 liters per minute) aircraft refueling with any volume of quality fuel.

Sergey Koltovich, Head of TNK-Avia, underlined that new vehicles make it possible to refuel aircrafts of every type, from small-sized business aviation planes to long haul passenger liners such as Boeing-747 and Airbus A380. “These vehicles meet the latest international standards; they shall help us to improve the aircraft refueling complex performance considerably, and to guarantee the safe refueling of our clients’ aircrafts in the shortest possible time. As a result we shall be able to decrease the duration of refueling twofold – from 2 hours to 1 hour”, said Mr. Koltovich.
