OREANDA-NEWS. September 27, 2011. Belarus will subscribe to more shares of the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development. The move is stipulated by Council of Ministers resolution No. 1263.

Following the relevant resolution of the IBRD Board of Governors Belarus will subscribe to 888 shares with the face value of USD 120,635 each and the total value of USD 107,123,880. Of the total Belarus will pay for USD 6,427,432.8 while the rest will be a guaranteed part of the IBRD’s capital and will be payable on demand.

The proposal to subscribe to more shares has been made by the Finance Ministry. The proposal has been approved by the Foreign Ministry, the Economy Ministry, and the Justice Ministry.

The International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) is the main credit institution of the World Bank. The IBRD focuses on facilitating the rebuilding and development of economies of the member states, on assistance to private foreign investments, on promoting balanced growth of international trade, on maintaining the equilibrium of balances of payment, on collecting and distributing statistics data. Belarus has been an IBRD member since 1992.
