OREANDA-NEWS. September 26, 2011. On 21 September 2011 at St Petersburg, in the Plenipotentiary Envoy office of the President of the Russian Federation in the Northwestern Federal District, the presentation of state awards was made to three SCF seafarers. The sailors were all crew members of the tanker SCF Baltica, which successfully completed a voyage along the Northern Sea Route in the summer of 2010.

Medals of the Order "For Service to Motherland” - Second degree were awarded to: SCF Baltica’s Master, Captain Alexander Nikiforov; Chief Engineer Vitaly Volyniec and Boatswain Ivan Sokolov.

The awards were presented by Nikolai Vinnichenko, the Plenipotentiary Envoy of the Russian President in the North-West Federal District.

As stated in official documents, the SCF Group employees received high ranking state awards “For services to exploration of the Arctic regions, participation in an experimental Arctic voyage of an ice-class tanker SCF Baltica along the Northern Sea Route, and for their professional excellence and quality work”.
