OREANDA-NEWS. September 26, 2011. Anhui Vice-Governor Hua Jianhui announced that the number of tourists to Anhui province has reached 100 million in the first half of this year, a rise of 7.6 percent over the previous year.

Speaking at a promotion meeting on Sept 22 regarding inviting outside investment to Anhui, she revealed that Anhui province will invest more than 400 billion (USD 63 billion) into tourism sector over five years, while a mountain of world-class tourism destinations is being built.

The promotion meeting, which showcased 187 items in seven categories with a total worth of 152.2 billion yuan, is a major part of the ongoing 15th China Huangshan International Tourism and Hui Culture Festival, which opened on Sept 22.

The promotion fair was hosted by Anuhui Provincial People's Government, Anhui Provincial Tourism Administration and undertaken by 16 prefecture-level cities within Anhui. It was aimed at offering and showing characteristic industries, therefore attracting more than 200 entrepreneurs and investors to invest in the eastern Chinese province.

At the meeting, 19 projects worth 30 billion were signed.

Anhui Vice-governor Hua Jianhui, Huangshan Mayor Song Guoquan, Director of Anhui Provincial Tourism Administration Hu Xuefan attended the promotion meeting while Zhang Wuyang, assistant secretary-general of Anhui Provincial People's Government, hosted it.

Hua also emphasized that the collaborative projects with big potential of development have been carefully selected and a series of events including business negotiation, investment and commercial communication have been arranged in order to let business elites and investors know more about Anhui’s tourism and invest in suitable projects.

Huangshan Mayor Song Guoquan briefed participants on Huangshan's multiple natural resources and economic developments in recent year, while welcoming investors from home and abroad to create their new life in Huangshan City.

Huangshan City, a southern city in Anhui, has held the festival for 15 consecutive years. This year, in addition to Huangshan, 15 other prefecture-level cities in the province were also invited to showcase their natural beauty so as to attract investments from home and abroad.

Huangshan Mountain, which is located in Huangshan City, is widely recognized and highly praised by people around the world. Every year, it attracts millions of visitors to enjoy its picturesque landscape and profound culture.

Hu Xuefan said "Anhui is becoming China's major tourism destination, preferable region for industrial transfer as well as a hot land for investment in tourism sector."

He also pointed out that it is wise to invest in Anhui, which can provide investors with huge commercial potential for development in the tourism sector.
