Ukraine Expects 1 bn kW•h from Renewed Sources in 2012
OREANDA-NEWS. September 23, 2011. It is expected the first 1 billion kW•h of electric power from renewed sources in 2012 year. The Head of State Agency for Energy Efficiency and Energy Conservation of Ukraine Mykola Pashkevych said this at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
Mykola Pashkevych during the briefing emphasized that considerable attention is paid to the development of renewable energy that can increase the energy independence of our country and positively impact on the dynamics of energy production.
"New branch has started to form in Ukraine. It has been put into operation for last year objects of renewed power generation capacity more than 96 МW, heat generation - more than 42 МW. Under our forecasts for the end of current year will be made nearby 340 million kW•h of the electric power from renewed sources in Ukraine. It is expected the first 1 billion kW•h this year" - Mykola Pashkevych informed.
Also Head of State Agency for Energy Efficiency and Energy Conservation told reporters that the development areas of renewable energy and promoting the implementation of measures under the Program contributed to the approval by EU the decision to grant Ukraine the first tranche of € 31 million for the program support implementation of the Energy Strategy of Ukraine in the sphere of energy.
