OREANDA-NEWS. September 22, 2011. National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO), a Navratna PSU under Ministry of Mines, Govt. of India, has yet again come forward to extend relief to the flood victims.  The company has donated ` 1 crore to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, Orissa, which has been severely affected by unprecedented flood.

Shri B.L. Bagra, CMD, NALCO handed over a cheque of ` 1 crore to Shri Naveen Patnaik, Hon’ble Chief Minister, Orissa here today.

NALCO has always extended relief measures to the victims of natural calamities in Orissa. Earlier, the company had donated ` 1.39 crore during the super cyclone in 1999 and ` 5 crore for flood victims of Orissa in 2008.

The company has doubled its CSR budget to 2% of the net profit from 2010-11, by setting up a NALCO Foundation. For the current fiscal, the company has earmarked ` 21.38 crore for various CSR activities.
