OREANDA-NEWS. September 22, 2011. Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development (MOHURD) announced on July 26, 2011 that, the Design Specification for Piping Support of Steel Works was approved to be the National Standard No. GB50709-2011, and to be put into effect on July 1, 2012, reported the press-centre of MCC.

As China’s very first design specification for piping support of steel works, this standard was mainly prepared by CISDI Engineering Co., Ltd. (CISDI). In addition to CISDI, 12 organizations (including metallurgy design institute, steel works, construction and manufacturing enterprises, and scientific research institutions in relevant universities) participated in the preparation work and eventually completed the specification within a period of over three years.

After investigation and study, the Specification Preparation Team made careful summary on the design experiences and scientific research achievements in the field of piping support of steel works. The Team members prepared this Specification basing upon the relevant international standards and advanced foreign norms, as well as opinions solicited on a wide basis.

In this Specification, which is designed with rich content, both the basic conditions in China and the current production situation of the Chinese steel works have taken into consideration. As an advanced and scientific norm, it is expected to play a standardized and instructive role in the design of piping support of steel works.
