OREANDA-NEWS. September 22, 2011. The 2010 Shanghai Mayor Quality Awards were officially announced. Mr. Han Zheng, Vice Secretary of the Shanghai Municipal Party Committee and Mayor of Shanghai, presented the award certificates, which are the highest honor of its kind in the quality category presented by the Shanghai Municipal Government, to both Shanghai Boiler Factory Co., Ltd. and Shanghai Institute of Building Sciences (Group) Co., Ltd., reported the press-centre of Shanghai Electric. 

In the award ceremony, it is honorable to have Mr. Liu Pingjun, Deputy Director of General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People’s Republic of China, and Mr. Jiang Ping, Vice Mayor of Shanghai to attend.

Established since 2008, Shanghai Mayor Quality Awards comprise awards for organizations and individual, and the aim of the Awards is to giving official endorsements to organizations which implemented quality management and achieved outstanding operation efficiency or to individuals who accomplished remarkable contributions to promote quality excellence. According to the rules, only 2 candidates from each category can be awarded for the Award every year. Shanghai Boiler Factory was one of the two which received the Shanghai Mayor Quality Awards. In addition, six organizations and three individuals were awarded Shanghai Quality Golden Awards respectively.

The Group’s subsidiary, Shanghai Electric Wind Power Equipment Co., Ltd., was also one of the winners. Mr. Fan Bingxun, Chairman of Shanghai Mitsubishi Elevator Co., Ltd. had won the first "Shanghai Mayor Quality Awards" in the individual category previously.
