Belarusian Grodno Azot Reports Fetilizer Output up 5.7%

Ammonia carbamide production grew 11% to 501,000 tonnes, ammonia sulphate production increased 13.2% to 259,100 tonnes, carbamide production edged 1,9% to 633,800 tonnes.
Ammonia production totaled 713,950 tonnes, up 2.1%, caprolactam – 88,700 tonnes, up 6.9%.
Commodity output in January-August totaled Br1.51 billion in fixed prices, 12.5% down.
Grodno Azot was set up in 1963 and transformed into an open joint-stock company in 2002. The Belarusian government holds a 99.97% stake. The annual capacity is estimated at 305,000 tonnes of sulphuric acid, 645,700 tonnes of nitrogen fertilizers, 111,200 tonnes of caprolactam and 55,400 tonnes of methanol.
