OREANDA-NEWS. September 20, 2011. President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov has visited the exposition of OJSC KAMAZ at the COMTRANs’2011 exhibition in Moscow today.

Accompanied by Director General of OJSC KAMAZ Sergey Kogogin, Rustam Minnikhanov saw the huge exposition of KAMAZ (occupying an area of 5 thousand square meters!), examined the latest samples of vehicles exhibited there. Rustam Minnikhanov’s interest was attracted by the new KAMAZ-5490 artic. This model is presented in two versions – with a cab developed by KAMAZ and with a cab developed jointly with Daimler AG.

Rustam Minnikhanov also looked at the power units of KAMAZ and CUMMINS KAMA JV, as well as special vehicles based on KAMAZ chassis made by the company’s subsidiaries and joint ventures – OOO RariTEK, Tumazinskiy Zavod Avtobetonovozov and Boshung AG. All special vehicles are equipped with new restyled cabs which will replace updated cabs. According to Rustam Minnikhanov, all models should find their customers in all industries.

The president of Tatastan could not but try his skills on the "Dynamic driving simulator" which produces realistic virtual movement of a truck.

Answering the journalists’ questions, Rustam Minnikhanov said that the COMTRANS exhibition is large-scale, and KAMAZ is a “diamond of this exhibition”.
