OREANDA-NEWS. September 20, 2011. Special Steel Business Unit inked the agreement for cooperative development of P92 large diameter steel Tube for ultra-supercritical unit with Hengyang Valin Steel Tube Co. Ltd., reported the press-centre of Baosteel.

According to the agreement, Special Steel Business Unit will provide P92 tube blank conforming to the standard requirements and Hengyang Valin Steel Tube Co. Ltd. will be responsible for steel tube manufacture and product certification.

P92 ferritic heat resistant large diameter steel tubes are one of the main materials for the main steam pipeline of ultra-supercritical unit. As Chinese power industry develops, every year scores of thousands of tons of this kind of material is demanded.

Both parties express that they will finish the initial testing of P92 ferritic heat resistant steel as soon as possible. If the tube blank for P92 large diameter steel tube is developed successfully, the foreign monopoly will be broken, which is very significant for localized application of this kind of steel tube.
