OREANDA-NEWS. September 20, 2011. Refining Company ORLEN Lietuva moved by nine positions up and occupies the 15th position in the fifth ranking of the largest Central European companies, CE TOP 500, made by the international audit and business consultant Delloite. The list of 500 largest Central European companies includes eight Lithuanian enterprises, reported the press-centre of ORLEN Lietuva.

According to Deloitte, in 2010 the revenues of almost 80 percent of the companies in the CE TOP 500 ranking were higher than a year ago, whereas in 2009,  only 16 percent of the companies were able to increase the revenues. This shows that the majority of the managers of the Central European companies, seeking to accelerate the recovery in their organizations and to retain the economical revival in the entire region, focused on three essential aspects: growth, financial result and innovations.

In the summary of this year’s CE TOP 500 ranking and in their comparison with the years 2008 and 2009, Deloitte notes that the leading companies of the Central European region are experienced in making and implementing strategic decisions, they relatively easy managed to survive the time of the economic difficulties and, in their efforts to improve their performance, found a lot of unused internal resources. These characteristics of the successful companies are considered as significant assets in the continued instability of the Central European region, the international auditor’s report said.
