Carlsberg Croup Became Member of AmCham Moldova
OREANDA-NEWS. September 16, 2011. Since the moment of its founding in 2006, AmCham Moldova has been one of the authoritative foreign business organizations working at development of trade relations between Moldova and the international community, particularly, promoting interests of foreign investors working on the Moldovan market and contributing to closer cooperation of companies working in different sectors.
It should be noted that the Slavutich company (a part of the Carlsberg Group) has been fruitfully cooperating with the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine, and its representatives actively participate in a number of the organization’s committees, supporting different projects.
This cooperation served as a basis for further development of relations between the two companies and Carlsberg Group’s joining the AmCham Moldova. As it was reported earlier, as a result of the regional restructuring, the Ukrainian company Slavutich had purchased the daughter company Baltika in Moldova in early 2011 and established the Carlsberg SRL, the fact that enabled the Carlsberg Group to focus on Moldova in terms of long-term projects and creation of the strong portfolio of brands.
Carlsberg Director in Moldova Dmitry Lugovskoy said membership in the AmCham Moldova would allow the company, first of all, dialoguing with the authorities and would contribute to establishment of sustainable business ties with the international community and to implementation of joint initiatives. Carlsberg Group – is one of the largest breweries in the world. Its leading brand – Carlsberg – is one of the most famous beer brands worldwide, two others – Baltika and Tuborg are among the top six largest beer brands of Europe.
The company’s products are presented on over 150 markets. In 2010, Carlsberg Group sold over 135 mln hectoliters of beer, that is about 40 bln bottles of beer a year. According to analysts’ evaluations, Moldova’s total market capacity is 12.5 mln decaliters. Carlsberg Group’s market share in Moldova is 11%.
