OREANDA-NEWS. September 15, 2011. Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Sergei Rumas took part in the fourteenth meeting of the Working Group for Belarus-Moscow Oblast cooperation.

During the meeting Sergei Rumas discussed with Deputy Prime Minister of Moscow Oblast Vasily Gromov a wide range of issues: trade and economic cooperation, industrial cooperation and cooperation in the agro-industrial complex.

"Moscow Oblast remains Belarusian key partner in the Russian Federation by all measures of bilateral cooperation, the level of mutual understanding and effectively addressing ", - stressed Sergey Rumas.

Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus noted that the potential can significantly increase the volume of trade by increasing supplies of Belarusian foodstuffs, vegetable products, passenger, road construction, municipal and agricultural machinery, light industry products, furniture and other goods. No less promising is the subject of further development of industrial cooperation.

According to Vasily Gromov, among the priorities of the parties' - energy efficient technologies, construction of warehouse and logistics facilities, introduction of innovative technologies in industrial production and processing of agricultural products. "We need more involved in our businesses to participate in inter-regional trade fairs and presentations, both in Moscow Oblast and in Belarus," - said Deputy Prime Minister of Moscow Oblast.

The Agenda of the meeting of the Working Group for Belarus-Moscow Oblast cooperation included 11 questions covering various areas of bilateral relationships. The reports on the implementation of the Activity Program on scientific-technical and innovation cooperation, expanding the supply of Belarusian equipment and products on Moscow Oblast market, visiting trade fairs were heard. Special attention was paid to the prospects of cooperation in the construction sector and the humanitarian sphere.

The Moscow Oblast is the third Belarusian partner after Tyumen Oblast and Moscow in the Russian Federation. In January - July 2011 trade turnover reached 1 925.2 million U.S. dollars, an increase compared to January - July 2010 to 40.2 percent.

Belarus supplies a wide range of goods produced in, including meat, dairy products and other food products, furniture, tractors, vehicles and spare parts for them to Moscow Oblast market.

Belarus imports from Moscow Oblast railway locomotives and railway cars, internal combustion engines, phosphorus fertilizer, metal products, canned vegetables, mineral water, dairy products, confectionery.
