Russian – Indian Negotiations Held in Rostov-on-Don, FAS
OREANDA-NEWS. September 15, 2011. Stats-Secretary Andrey Tsarikovskiy, Deputy Head of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia), had a bilateral meeting with Sua Lal Bunker, General Secretary of the Competition Commission of India, in course of “Competition Day” in Rostov-on-Don, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.
The parties discussed the prospects of signing a bilateral document on cooperation between FAS Russia and the Competition Commission of India. The Indian side expressed its readiness to sign the Memorandum on Cooperation in the field of competition policy.
Also, Andrey Tsarikovskiy discussed the forthcoming visit of FAS delegation, led by the Head of FAS Igor Artemyev, to the Competition Commission of India in November 2011. The purpose of the visit is to negotiate the prospects of developing bilateral cooperation of the two authorities in the field of competition policy and enforcement practice.
Summing up, Andrey Tsarikovskiy emphasised importance of interaction between competition authorities of the two countries not only as bilateral cooperation but also within the framework of BRICS integration association. The parties expressed their hope that the 2nd International BRICS Conference on Competition, co-organised by the competition authorities of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, would be successful.
