OREANDA-NEWS. September 15, 2011. The average salary in Moldova in July 2011 amounted to 3261.8 leis, up 11 percent over July 2010, but down 8.3 percent from June 2011. Given the inflation, the real amount of salary increased by 2.5% in July 2011 in comparison with July 2010, the National Statistics Office reported.

The average nominal salary in the public sector amounted to 2,905.2 leis in July this year (8.9 percent against July 2010), in the real sector of economy – 3390.1 leis (+10.7 percent). The highest salaries in July 2011, like in the previous months, were earned by the banking-financial sector’s employees – 6836.1 leis (+6.6% in comparison with July 2010).

The salary at heating-, electricity-, gas- and water supplying enterprises averaged 5,022.4 leis, remaining unchanged in comparison with the same period last year; in realtor companies – 4262.3 leis (+7.1%), at transport and communication enterprises – 7726.1 leis (+7.4%).

The lowest salaries were still paid in fish breeding – 1698.3 leis (+21.5% against July 2010), in agriculture and forestry – 1996.8 leis (+22.9%). Salaries remain low in the hotel-restaurant business – 2270.8 leis, education – 2694.1 leis, trade – 2751.1 leis.
