OREANDA-NEWS. September 14, 2011. The average salary in the Chisinau municipality is 19.2 percent higher than on average in Moldova and amounted to 4,237.9 leis in June 2011. Salary in Chisinau grew 8.2 percent in comparison with June 2010, the National Statistics Bureau reports.

In the public sector, salary in Chisinau averages 4,541.8 leis, exceeding the average salary of public sector’s employees in the republic’s regions by 7.2 percent. The highest salary in June was registered in education – 7,273.2 leis, 71.6% higher than the average salary in the municipality. However, such a high amount of the remuneration of labor is explained by the period of vacations, and, respectively, payment of vacation pay.

The lowest salaries were received in the fish breeding – 1,674.1 leis, in agriculture, forestry – 2,756/1 leis.
