OREANDA-NEWS. September 13, 2011. A strategic cooperation framework agreement was signed between the Anhui provincial government and the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council on Thursday afternoon in Hefei, capital city of Anhui province to engage overseas Chinese in promoting the rising of the province.

Officials attending the signing ceremony included Zhang Baoshun, secretary of the provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), Wang Sanyun, governor of the provincial government and Li Haifeng, director of the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council.

Over the past few years, the province has earnestly implemented the central government's policies on overseas Chinese affairs, Zhang Baoshun, who firstly on behalf of the provincial CPC committee and government, extended warm welcome to Li Haifeng and her entourage and appreciated long-standing support the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council gave to the province, said as he met Li before the ceremony.

Taking the people-centered approach and sticking to the principle of serving overseas Chinese, the province will strive to push forward the development of overseas Chinese affairs to a higher level and fully engage overseas Chinese residing abroad and returning to China in contributing to the sound and rapid economic and social growth of the province, Zhang said.

Li was grateful to the provincial leaders for their reception and offered congratulations on achievements Anhui province made both in economy and society.

She said the signing of the strategic cooperation framework agreement marked a significant breakthrough in boosting cooperation between the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council and the province in integrating resources and innovating mechanisms.

The Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council will seize this opportunity to contribute to an open, innovative and harmonious Anhui, Li said.
