Ukraine Improved Ranking in Global Competitiveness Index
OREANDA-NEWS. September 13, 2011. Ukraine improved its ranking in the Global Competitiveness Index for 2011-2012 by 7 positions, taking 82nd place. The rating of the countries published by the World Economic Forum.
The best result among the components of the index of competitiveness of Ukraine - subindex of the macroeconomic environment which has grown in comparison with previous year by 20 points. Also positive results registered in the development of financial markets (+3 points), government and public facilities (+2 points), technological readiness (+1 point).
Considering feature of calculation of the Global Competitiveness Index, the estimation of a modern rating of Ukraine is based on the data mainly 2010 and reflects thereby positive shifts which have occurred in 2010 to overcoming of consequences of influence of world financial crisis of 2008-2009.
Among the post-Soviet countries in the ranking, in particular, Russia took the 66th place, Georgia - 88, Armenia - 92, Moldova - 93.
