OREANDA-NEWS. September 13, 2011. In Seoul, at the international conference organized by the Korean Association of Middle East Studies (KAMES) took place the presentation of the National TV & Radio Company of Uzbekistan where representatives of the broadcasting and telecommunications organizations from 12 countries in Africa, Asia and the Pacific with the development of electronic mass media during years of independence in Uzbekistan and activity of NTRC of Uzbekistan were acquainted, reported the press-centre of NTRC.

As was noted in a speech of the director of state unitary enterprise "O'zbektelefilm" of NTRC of Uzbekistan Fatikh Djalalov, the issues of media including its duty in ensuring the constitutional rights and civil rights in the information sphere in Uzbekistan are always in the focus of the state.
Established in the country developed, meeting the requirements and standards of a democratic legal framework for media development, their strengthening material and technical basis are certainly an important consistent part of a consecutive continuing work in this direction.

Today in the republic its activities are carried out 1218 names of the media. Among they are 700 newspapers, 250 magazines, 17 newsletters, more than 100 TV and radio channels, 150 web-sites, 4 information agencies. Materials of periodic mass media, television and radio programs are offered not only in the official language, but also in other languages of the world.

As a result of solving problems on the developing of the sphere only in the last ten years the number of print media in the country increased by 1.5 times, the electronic media to 7 times. Nearly 53 percent of existing television channels, radio stations and 86 percent of web-sites are non-state media.

Participants of presentation also were provided with information concerning the development of broadcasting in the country, including the National TV & Radio Company of Uzbekistan. In particular, the speaker noted that thanks to realized investment projects during years of independence were organized the satellite television and radio distribution networks in Asia, Europe and North Africa, as well as online broadcasting on the Internet in real time.

Today four television channels of National TV & Radio Company of Uzbekistan carried out round the clock broadcasting. At the same time it is provided one hundred percent coverage of the republic’s territory by two state TV channels. Since 2006, the TV channel "Uzbekistan" and channel "Yoshlar" of NTRC of Uzbekistan broadcast their programs on-line in other countries. In the near future the programs of TV channels "Sport" and "Tashkent" will be also broadcasted on-line.

NTRC of Uzbekistan has well established creative and technical-organizational relationship with the largest broadcasting companies in the world. Since 2004 the Company is an equal member of the ABU - the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union.
