OREANDA-NEWS. September 8, 2011.  ARMZ Uranium Holding Co. (JSC Atomredmetzoloto) has held “Sports – Kids – Stars” social event in Uksyanskoe village (Dalmatovsky District, Kurgan Region) as part of its efforts to promote education and healthy lifestyle among local communities living in the areas of the company’s presence. JSC Dalur operated by JSC Atomredmetzoloto is located in Dalmatovsky District.

On September 2–3, within the framework of this event, an invited lecturer from Moscow delivered a two-day course on astronomy for middle and senior grade pupils of the local school. To summarize the results, pupils were asked to fill out quest forms. The most attentive participants received from the event organizers valuable awards helpful for self-study of astronomy.

The school has also been provided with the equipment for astronomy classes, including two new telescopes.

On September 3, JSC Dalur officials led by the company’s director general Aleksey Dementyev installed a new children’s playground, a gift from ARMZ Uranium Holding Co., in the school yard. They also carried out works to upgrade a stadium in Uksyanskoe. These involved setting up fences and adjusting sports equipment (ladders, chinning bars, goalposts, and etc). The upgraded stadium hosted Veselye kosmo-starty junior competition.

The event highlight was a friendly football game between JSC Dalur employees and Uksyanskoe school team.
