OREANDA-NEWS. September 08, 2011. His Royal Highness Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark today visited the Moscow School of Management SKOLKOVO. During his visit The Crown Prince addressed students, partners and guests of business-school. Crown Prince Frederik was present at a ceremony where a memorandum of understanding was signed between Moscow School of Management SKOLKOVO and The Copenhagen Business School to enhance cooperation and promote exchanges between of two of the leading educational institutions of Russia and Denmark, reported the press-centre of SKOLKOVO.

The visit fell into the framework of the official state visit to Russia by Her Majesty The Queen of Denmark and His Royal Highness The Prince Consort – accompanied by His Royal Highness The Crown Prince, which takes place from the 6th to the 9th of September.

The programme of Crown Prince Frederik during his stay in Russia includes a number of meetings and visits highlighting the growing cooperation and exchange between Denmark and Russia in the energy and environmental fields. During the speech that Crown Prince gave at SKOLKOVO he stressed the importance of sustainable economic development and of combating climate change. He also touched upon the experience and competences of Danish “green tech” companies, which are in increasing demand on the Russian market.

Copenhagen Business School is a private educational institution established in 1917. It is one of the largest schools in Europe. At the moment it has around 18 000 students and an annual intake of around 1500 exchange students. In 2010 CBS adopted its new strategy “Business in Society”, which means among others putting learning into focus and making it as much priority as research. The other goal of the strategy is to improve the international positions of School within research and education. Today the School has 329 exchange and cooperation agreements, half of which are European.
