Crown Prince of Denmark Reviews Sochi 2014 Progress
OREANDA-NEWS. September 08, 2011. His Royal Highness Crown Prince Frederick of Denmark has visited the Sochi 2014 Organizing Committee during Her Royal Majesty Margrethe II, Queen of Denmark, state visit to Russia. During a working meeting with Dmitry Chernyshenko, Sochi 2014 President, the Crown Prince was presented with a detailed report on the preparation for the Games. Following the presentation, HRH Crown Prince Frederick gave high praise to the Sochi 2014 progress.
HRH Crown Prince Frederick became an IOC member in 2009 and has since been a highly active member of the Olympic movement. Following his meeting with the Sochi 2014 Organizing Committee, HRH Crown Prince Frederick said:
“This visit to Moscow is the perfect opportunity for me to meet the top Sochi 2014 team and learn more about the complex preparations for a Winter Games.
“Preparing to host a Winter Games is a challenging task that demands the utmost dedication and togetherness from all parties involved; I am impressed with the Organizing Committee's achievements, under the leadership of Dmitry Chernyshenko.”
During his address, HRH Crown Prince Frederick thanked the Organizing Committee staff for their warm hospitality and expressed his hope that the 2014 Games will be staged at the highest standard.
HRH Crown Prince Frederick took time to meet and speak with many members of the Organizing Committee staff and a group photo was taken as a souvenir of his visit.
Dmitry Chernyshenko, President of the Sochi 2014 Organizing Committee, highlighted:
“I’m grateful to HRH Crown Prince Frederick for taking the time to visit the Organizing Committee and to further familiarize himself with the Sochi 2014 Games project, particularly our Sustainable Development Program and the Sochi Games Legacy that we are already delivering today.”
The HRM Margarethe, Queen of Denmark, state visit to Russia is taking place between 6th – 9th September 2011.
