OREANDA-NEWS. September 08, 2011. The Port Authority and the company Rohde Nielsen A/S signed the contract agreement on the object „Capital Dredging of Port Waters Territory in the Objects: „Improvement of Klaipeda State Seaport Entrance Channel“ and „Capital Dredging of Klaipeda State Seaport Malku Bay, the 2nd Stage – Capital Dredging of Port Waters Territory Nearby the Quay No. 144“, reported the press-centre of Klaipeda Port.
 
The contractual price is 20 715641,41 Lt including VAT.

The contract shall be valid for the period of 120 days from the day it has been concluded.
 
During these works the entrance channel will be widened at seven points. The goal of these works is to enhance navigation conditions in Klaipeda Port preserving the same project depths.

Once the aforementioned works are performed and the entrance channel is widened another stage will follow – the capital dredging of the entrance channel.

Pursuant to the signed contract agreement the planned amount of excavated soil is 461 076 cubic metres. As provided in technical project it is planned to excavate approximately 399 boulders in diameter from 0,8 metres up to 1,5 metre and 189 boulders in diameter reaching over 1,5 metre.
