OREANDA-NEWS. September 7, 2011. The meeting with the members of the delegation led by the Chairman of the Regional Council of the Veneto Region, Italy Mr. Clodovaldo Ruffato, who arrived to the Turkmen capital, took place in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The meeting focused on the prospects and priority vectors of the Turkmen-Italian partnership in the context of the foreign-policy strategy of Turkmenistan initiated by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, one of the basic principles of which is establishment of mutually beneficial constructive cooperation with all countries all over the world, including Italy. It was noted that productive dialogue between our country and Italy successfully developed in the bilateral format as well as within the framework of partnership with the EU countries.

Mr. Clodovaldo Ruffato underlined that the Government of the Italian Republic paid significant attention to strengthening the intergovernmental relations with Turkmenistan, which possessed enormous resource potential and implemented the open door policy prioritizing wide international cooperation.

Speaking about the huge potential for comprehensive development of the Turkmen-Italian partnership, the meeting participants expressed the mutual aspiration of the both countries in widening bilateral relations and called for the further enhancement of fruitful relations in such spheres as trade, economy and culture.

The meeting in the Ministry of Culture and Broadcasting of Turkmenistan was dedicated to the ways for strengthening partnership in the humanitarian sphere. Within the framework of the meeting it was noted that organization of joint events would contribute to the mutual enrichment of the cultures of Turkmenistan and Italy and further enhancement of the ties of friendship between the two peoples.

Within the framework of their staying in Turkmenistan the Italian guests will visit one of the regions of the country.
