He also reminded that industrial output in January-June 2011 had increased 9.1 percent compared to the same period last year, and the gross agricultural production had increased by 3.9 percent.

Moldovan exports in January-June 2011 totaled USD 1,000.5 mln, 64.9% more than in the same period last year, imports increased by 41.7 percent, to USD 2,375.4 mln. For the first time over the recent years, export growth rates exceeded the import growth rates.

Freight traffic in the first half of 2011 in Moldova grew 26.6 percent, retail trade increased by 20.6 percent, investments in long-term tangible assets grew 31.8 percent.
